The extinguisher discharges a dense cloud of pure carbon dioxide gas to choke out fires rapidly. The cold gas displaces ambient oxygen and cools heat at the combustion source without the use of water or messy chemicals.

Because CO2 is electrically non-conductive, it protects the operator against shock hazards. It leaves zero residue behind, completely eliminating the cleanup downtime, equipment corrosion, or abrasive powder damage associated with conventional dry chemical units.
