The Wet Chemical fire extinguisher is suitable for fires involving cooking oils and fats, often found in commercial and residential kitchens. To prevent splashing of the oil, this fire extinguisher is equipped with an applicator lance that provides a degree of safety to the person operating the extinguisher.

The fire extinguishers have been dielectric tested. This certification makes them safe for use on electrical fires up to 1000 volts, provided a minimum distance of one meter is maintained.

Suitable for Classes of Fire: A & F (Electric too)

Under SCDF regulations, Singapore fire extinguishers cannot have icons for gas or electrical fires. SCDF recommends switching off the energy source (gas/electric) before fighting a fire.

If you are in the food industry and are operating in an environment such as the central kitchen, you will need to be equipped with a Wet Chemical Fire Extinguisher. Fires in such environments usually involve deep fat cooking, oil, fats, butter, lard (Class F) and the Wet Chemical Fire Extinguisher is the most suitable agent to manage such fires.

Ensure that this wet chemical extinguisher is placed near to the kitchen work area.

Class F fires are also known as Class K fires (where K stands for Kitchen fire).

It is important not to replace your Wet Chemical fire extinguisher with other extinguishers (e.g. AB Dry Powder, CO2) as they are not capable of managing and cooling high temperatures (e.g. as high as over 300 degrees) burning oil or fats.
